Ive been with US Cellular for about 5 months. Coverage is really pretty decent. My main complaint is the customer service. Their reps will say anything to get you out the door. Also watch your phones as some of them are overpriced and under-equipped. I have a Kyocera KX-160 that i am sure is a lemon but i cannot recieve any compensation or a replacement because the "30-day trial" for the phone has expired. Basically it adds up to good coverage horrible customer service!

I'm not a current US Cellular customer... but thought I would read some reviews before switching from Cingular (AT&T) to US Cell. I must say... after reading these reviews regarding the poor customer service and especially after reading the review regarding wanting to sell new contracts more than retaining existing customers, this is the SAME STORY with Cingular! Customer service is poor, and it is a joke to look at rates for phone "upgrades" for existing customers versus new customers. New customers can get a phone for free. Existing customers pay in excess of $150. Doesn't seem to make much sense... but if all the cell companies are doing the same, then why not?

Phone service is ok, customer service is absolutely horrible. They would rather sell a new customer that retain a current customer. I can get a better deal letting my current contract expire and re-sign as a new customer that if I extend my current contract. Idiots !!!!

Well Dan B I have had the same issue - hear different answers from customer service every time I'm in the store. They service on the phones is spotty but they will let me buy a new phone at $180 + how generous. I cannot stand them at this point..........

I've been with US Cellular since 2000...Tried Cingular, Verizon and T-Mobile (these were the worst ones of all) on their trial period and stuck with US Cellular. Rates are very competitive, their customer service, coverage area is one of the best and my US Cellular store has the most knowledgeable staff in the area. Would HIGHLY recommend trying them. For the other people in here that complained about their phones being so cheap and crappy, I don't recommend, with any carrier for that matter, getting the "FREE" phone because none of these phones last, get yourself into a mid or higher end phone and you will be very happy with them!

US Cellular provided two lemon phones and the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I would't buy two tin cans and a string from them!

I have Had US Cell for 7 years now. I locked in a plan 7 years ago that was to good for me and my wife to ever leave them. We have thought about it SEVERAL TIMES. I have no ploblem with coverage. I did in the past but it was just an outdated phone. Reliability, has never been an issue. They have a wonderful tech. support team that u can call. I HATE TO GO IN THE STORES !!! EVERY STORE IS ALLWAYS UNDERSTAFFED WITH PEOPLE THAT DONT KNOW ANYTHING MORE ABOUT CELL PHONES THAN I DO ! PLUS THEY DONT HAVE ANY SALES SKILLS !! IF I AM SPENDING $300.00-600.00 ON PHONES, YOU BETTER WORK FOR THAT ! B/C THERE IS ABOUT 3 OTHER CELL PHONE COMPANIES ON THE SAME STREET !!

I moved and had no service, they charged me the fees($300 maybe more) to cut off the service, which I paid, then there was another $70 charge that I had believed to be in with the disconnect fee for that I was sent to a collection agency.

For a smaller company US Cellular has some of the BEST service you can find on the northern cali coast. Very friendly reps & customer service is outstanding. I've traveled w/ my phone & still have great service just about everywhere I go. When I have had complaints, the problems were fixed quickly.
