Ryan EH United States/Iowa/Des Moines [Aug 21, 2008] I have been a US Cellular customer for 1 year with a 2 year contract. I was satisfied with everything until I decided to change one of my numbers, instead of just changing the number they opened up a new line of service under a new account number this was done in the middle of July. The change is now going through the system a month later! The old number has been on my account for 1 month with 2 charges July and August and the new number on the new acct is also being charged and they said that I authorized the opening of a new account because of a "market transfer"! Because of this mistake that Us Cellular generously made and since they said that I authorized the changes they cannot correct anything and I'm stuck with it and if I do not pay the $350, plus the $110 charge on my "new account" my account will be closed in 3 weeks and the account sent to collections. Because if this horrible Customer Service experience and since I work in customer service and know how to be a good representative, I'm seriously thnking of moving to a different company! |

THE CUSTOMER SERVICE JUST MAKES NO SENSE. tALK TO THREE PEOPLE AND YOU'LL GET 3DIFFERENT ANSWERS. I CALLED TO TERMINATE MY SERVICE AND THE LADY IN BILLING PRETENDS TO DO JUST THAT. SHE EVEN SAYS EVERYTHINGS CANCELED JUST WAIT 48 TO 24HOURS FOR IT TO GO THROUGH. (because i wanted to give the phone to another us cell customer to use) SO I'M LIKE OKAY SO WILL THE PERSON BE ABLE TO USE THE PHONE IN THAT TIME SHE COULDN'T ANSWER SO SHE TRANSFERS ME TO CUSTOMER SERVICE WHO THEN TELLS ME THAT MY ACCOUNT IS NOT CANCELED AND ONLY SOMEONE IN THE CANCELATION DEPARTMENT COULD DO THAT. AND THAT I COULD TERMINATE MY CONTRACT BECAUSE IT WILL DO THAT IN 30DAYS ON ITS ON. I CALLED BACK LATER AND A MAN SAYS WELL EVEN WHEN YOU TERMINATE NO CAN USE THE PHONE UNTIL THE BILL IS PAID ANYWAY. SO SOMEONE PRETENDED TO CANCEL MY ACCOUNT WHEN THEY DIDN'T, THEN SOMEONE TELLS ME TO WAIT 30DAYS TO GIVE THE PERSON THE PHONE, THEN SOMEONE TELLS ME I'LL NEVER BE ABLE TO GIVE THE PHONE TO ANYONE ELSE......I'VE BEEN A CUSTOMER A YEAR HAVE A TWO YEAR CONTRACT. Terry United States/Virginia/Bedford [Dec 29, 2007] US Cellular is one of the best Cell Phone providers in the area. I tried T-Mobile, and they are the company from Hell. No coverage and very poor customer support. Used Verizon, and the coverage was poor, and they have overpriced plans. US Cellular works in the most rual areas around here and the customer service is great. There phones don't have all the extra bells and wistles like some of the others, but if you want a phone that works everywhere you go then you need to go with US Cellular. I drive a school bus and there are many places that my 2 way radio does not work on my bus, but I always have my cell to rely on. |
Steve United States/Okla/Broken Arrow [Oct 29, 2007] I had a problem with an overpayment. I called customer service to work out a solution and was told that the second check would not be posted to the account. Two days later, I found out that not only had it been posted but it had cleared my bank. I called customer service to find out why mycheck had been posted when I had been told it would not be, I was then told that I should have stopped payment on the check. But that a refund check would be sent to me and I would receive it within five to ten business days. Three weeks later, I called to find out why I had not received the check. At THAT time I was told that the check could not be released because I had not sent proof that the check had cleared. The rep I talked to told me the company's records showed the check had cleared but since I hadn't sent a fax of my bank statement, they couldn't release the check. Now I have to wait another week to get my money back. Everytime I called customer service, I have gotten the rund-around and the answers are changed, more is required of me that I was not informed of. As has been stated above, the customer service with this company SUCKS but I am stuck with them for a while longer. |

Jeffery United States/Maryland/Deep Creek [Aug 08, 2007] Ive been with US Cellular for about 5 months. Coverage is really pretty decent. My main complaint is the customer service. Their reps will say anything to get you out the door. Also watch your phones as some of them are overpriced and under-equipped. I have a Kyocera KX-160 that i am sure is a lemon but i cannot recieve any compensation or a replacement because the "30-day trial" for the phone has expired. Basically it adds up to good coverage horrible customer service! |
